Benefiting from TEAM's Parental Leave Policy

Julien Barut, Head of Partner Rights Management

Becoming a parent is a momentous occasion, both amazing and all-consuming. At TEAM, we want to support our employees during this incredible journey by ensuring both parents benefit from a comprehensive parental leave policy.

Extended leave for partners

TEAM’s parental leave policy is designed to ensure that our staff can welcome their children under the best possible conditions and spend quality time with their families. In addition to providing the primary parent with 18 weeks paid leave and a gradual return to the office, the parental leave policy offers partners four weeks of parental leave, followed by eight weeks of working at 80% of their regular hours, all while being paid 100% of their salary.

Julien Barut, Head of Partner Rights Management, recently benefited from this policy when his son was born at the end of June. His experience underpins the positive impact of extended time for all involved.

Reduced stress, increased confidence

For first-time parent Julien, being home for those first four weeks allowed him to fully experience the joys and challenges of parenthood alongside his spouse, sharing equally in the responsibilities of caring for their new born. Then the additional eight weeks at 80% allowed Julien to go back to his high-responsibility job, while still being flexible to support his family.

This shared responsibility not only helped reduce his partner’s stress and mental load but also boosted Julien's confidence and connection to his baby. He enjoyed the time to bond with his son, while also taking ownership and responsibility for his child's well-being right from the beginning, from scheduling doctor's appointments to attending daycare visits. When parents share the responsibility of caring for a new baby, it helps normalise and progress toward more balanced family dynamics – something Julien strives to prioritise.

TEAM's parental leave policy allowed me to be fully involved in my child's life right from the beginning and support my spouse. Equal involvement from both parents means we can share equally in the joys and challenges of caring for a new baby.

At TEAM, we're proud to promote a healthy work-life balance for our employees, especially during such a special time in their lives.
