11 November 2024 - SuperTennis, the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation’s (FITP) dedicated channel, has secured exclusive rights for the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge for the next four years. Brokered by T/SQUARED, the sports and entertainment marketing agency set up by the TEAM Group to house its new business activities, the agreement also includes a range of international events across youth, wheelchair, and beach tennis.

From 2025 to 2028, Italian tennis fans will have access to all Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup matches, including every tie from the first qualifying rounds to the finals. Alongside the live broadcast, the competitions will be streamed on SuperTenniX. The rights were previously held by a tripartite agreement among Rai, Sky Italia and SuperTennis.

Increased Italian relevance in tennis

Italian teams have recently experienced notable successes in both World Cup of Tennis events. Italy’s men’s team, led by current world number 1 Jannik Sinner, clinched the 2023 Davis Cup title—their first since 1976—while the women’s team, led by current Top 10 ranked Jasmine Paolini, reached the Billie Jean King Cup final last year.

These achievements have heightened Italian interest in the tournaments, and starting in 2025, fans can follow their teams through a revamped format Link opens in a new tab.. The Davis Cup will return to home or away ties for its September Qualifiers second round stage, replacing the existing group stage, while the Billie Jean King Cup Finals will change to an eight-team event, bringing both competitions further in sync.

The Davis Cup is operated by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Tthe Billie Jean King Cup is operated by the ITF and Billie Jean King Cup Limited (a partnership between the International Tennis Federation and TWG Global created to deliver transformative investment and innovation to the competition).

Youth, Wheelchair and Beach Tennis

The FITP exclusive rights package goes beyond the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup, providing a platform to showcase emerging tennis talent and under-represented categories, ensuring Italian fans can engage with the sport in all its forms. SuperTennis will also broadcast:

  • Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge;
  • ITF Wheelchair World Team Cup, NEC Wheelchair Singles Masters, and ITF Wheelchair Doubles Masters; and
